What Is It?
We’re currently in the process of building the first outdoor dry snow park in Australia, using Neveplast, an artificial slope that has very similar qualities to snow. The Gold Coast Snow Park is not only a facility for professional training but fun for all the family.
We currently have our Mini Park open in Surfers Paradise where you can get a taste of everything to come and support us. With an Airbag jump, Tube slides and Ice Kart racing, there’s fun for all the family.
Where Is It?
Snow Parks Australia is currently in negotiations for several blocks of land between Coomera and Tweed, along the M1 Corridor.
Our Mini Park is located at 103 Ferny Ave, Surfers Paradise. Entry is free, with free parking on site and right next to the Surfers North Tram station.
Who Is Behind It?
Gold Coast Snow Park is being developed by Snow Parks Australia, a local Gold Coast company.
Being locals who love the snow, it is our main goal to provide a fun, safe and cost-effective way for people to enjoy snow-based activities. Whether it’s skiing or boarding for the first time, tubing or karting, or training for an Olympic event or the next trip to the powder, we want to offer something for everyone.
What's On Offer?
Features of the Main park will include airbag and water ramps, snow tube runs, ice karting, beginner and intermediate runs for skiers and boarders, and a terrain park with varying degrees of difficulty. There will also be a snow themed cafe, bar and bistro, a rental and retail store, a child care creche, and of course a snow sports school.
Currently, our Mini Park is operational to show just what will be on offer. We have tube slides, an airbag ramp that can be ridden on with tubes, or if you bring your own gear, skis and boards and an Ice Kart track. There’s also a cafe run by Donut Empire where you can grab a drink, ice cream, donuts, coffee or other food and desserts to recharge.
A few people have asked why would we try and compete with the hugely successful snowfields in Australia, such as Perisher, Thredbo and Hotham.
Rest assured, we are most definitely not trying to compete with the beauty and experience of natural snow. Our aim is to complement the products they offer, to help skiers and snowboarders work on their skills year-round in QLD, improving their ability so when they do go down to the actual snowfields in NSW and VIC, they can have a better time and feel more confident on the slopes.
Secondly, a trip to the snow for a family is costly, and we think this is a great way for those who don’t have the opportunity to visit the snowfields to be able to experience a bit of the fun that snow-play and snowsports offer.
Can You Help?
At the risk of sounding like Abraham Lincoln, this park is for the people, and by the people! We want your opinions!
With the Gold Coast Snow Park moving along quickly, now is the time to speak your mind. Ask us questions, give us feedback, and tell us what you want. We’re building it for you, the way you want it built.
